Meet the Staff: SDHS Family Dentistry dental staff consists of Dr. Aba Mills-Robertson, Kitty Elsaesser (Dental Assistant), Lindsie Farrow (Dental Hygienist). Dinwiddie Family Dentistry staff consists of Dr. Nicole
Barbour, Fallon LaMirand (Dental Hygienist), Sheryl Venable (Dental Assistant), and Kelly Knick (Office
Coordinator).
The Victoria location is housed in the old Lunenburg Medical Center building across the street from the new center. The office features state of the art dental equipment including a portable handheld x-ray unit with digital imaging to help with patient comfort and digital patient records. There are three operatories, one for dental hygiene and two for dental procedures. The Dinwiddie location will be housed in the Dinwiddie Medical Center building. This office opened in May, 2011, and also features advanced technologies in dental equipment, as well as three operatories. What exactly does a dental hygienist do? Dental hygienists remove soft and hard deposits from teeth,
teach patients how to practice good oral hygiene, and provide other preventive
dental care. They examine patients' teeth and gums, recording the presence of
diseases and abnormalities. Who is eligible for services at the dental clinic? Everyone! There are many residents living in Southside Virginia in need of dental care. SDHS accepts all dental insurances including Medicaid and also offers a sliding fee scale for those individuals without insurance. Is there an age limit for dental services? Dental services are available for everyone ages 3 years and up. What are some examples of services that will be provided?
