The staff of Southern Dominion Health System, Inc. is
dedicated to providing comprehensive, primary health care to individuals and
families in need of its services. Care available at Southern Dominion Health
System, Inc. includes infant and child care, adolescent medicine, primary
gynecology, adult primary care, geriatrics, preventive health care and minor
surgery.
Our medical staff is composed of Physicians, Nurse
Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Each of our Family Practice Providers are Board
Certified and continue to remain current through Continuing Medical Education as
required by our Board of Directors.
Our nursing staff is composed of Licensed Practical
Nurses, and Certified Medical Assistants, supervised and directed by a
Registered Nurse.
Certified Radiologic Technologists provide radiology
examinations at the medical centers with state-of-the-art x-ray equipment,
including bone densitometry.
APPOINTMENTS
Routine and continued health care is provided by
appointment only. This is to provide you, our patients, with adequate time with
your provider. In order for us to schedule adequate time for you, please inform
the receptionist of the nature of your problem and if one or more members of the
family will need to be seen when an appointment is scheduled.
Unexpected and emergency health care problems do arise,
and we will make every effort to see you for these problems as soon as possible.
Walk-in patients, i.e., those arriving without scheduled appointments, will be
"worked in" between our regularly scheduled appointments.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please call 24
hours in advance.
BILL OF RIGHTS
We respect your right to quality focused, cost effective,
family based health care and would like to provide you with a patient bill of
rights brochure on your next visit.
FEES
SDHS accepts all insurances. Fees charged by our offices
are comparable to other health care providers in our area. Sliding fee discounts are
available to eligible patients.
Payment is expected at time services are rendered unless
other arrangements have been made in advance.
OTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE
HOUSE CALLS FOR THE HOMEBOUND:
House Calls for the Homebound offers comprehensive,
non-emergent health care for individuals who are unable to access ambulatory
health care.
HEALTHY SCHOOLS/ HEALTHY COMMUNITIES:
A provider is available in all four Lunenburg County
Schools as part of the School Based Health Clinic program. He/She is able to see
sick children there as well as well child visits and physicals.
DIABETIC EDUCATION CLASSES
A diabetes class is held monthly at Lunenburg Medical
Center. There are two sessions from 9am until 11am two days a month. Sue
Copsetta, RN will be teaching these classes. This service is free to our
patients. For more information and class schedules call

NIGHT, WEEKEND, AND EMERGENCY SERVICE
Southern Dominion Health System, Inc. provides for a 24
hour comprehensive physician availability should the need arise. When you need
to reach us for an emergency or after-hours problem please call the office
number and follow the voice mail prompts. The Provider on call will return your
call as soon as possible.
In the event that you may be experiencing a dire, life
threatening emergency call 911, local dispatcher, or proceed directly to the
emergency room and identify yourself as a patient of Southern Dominion Health
System, Inc.
